MANILA, Philippines—Barangay Ginebra will likely be without Scottie Thompson in its quarterfinals game against top seed TNT on Wednesday.
Thompson’s status is doubtful due to health and safety protocols.
“As of today (Tuesday), Scottie is still out and doubtful for the TNT game. We will remain shorthanded it seems, but the guys are in good spirits and ready to play,” said Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.
“Our focus now is just preparing. We can’t worry about who’s not playing for us, we just roll with who we do have and move on.”
The do-it-all guard has already missed Ginebra’s last two games including the Gin Kings’ 95-85 win over Phoenix for the last playoff spot on Saturday.
The Kings, who will need to beat the Tropang Giga twice to advance to the semifinals, are already without star forward Japeth Aguilar.
Aguilar is out for the rest of Philippine Cup due to an MCL sprain.
