AVC: Team Rebisco out of contention after loss to Thais

MANILA, Philippines—Team Rebisco got the early boot in the Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship on Monday.

Hometown bet Nakhon Ratchasima QminC eliminated the Nationals from title contention after cruising to a 25-11, 25-19, 25-18 win in the quarterfinals at Terminal 21 Hall in Thailand.

With the loss, Rebisco dropped into the classification round for fifth to seventh places where the team will try to notch its first win after going 0-4 so far in the tournament.

The Thais flaunted their firepower with 46 attacks while also getting 22 free points off unforced errors by Team Rebisco.

Team Rebisco was coming off a loss to Iran’s Saipa where it finally won a set in a 26-24, 22-25, 25-13, 25-17 decision on Sunday. Ivy Lacsina scored nine points for the Nationals.

Kuttika Kaewpin led the Thais with 11 points while Chatchu-on Moksri added 10.
