Choco Mucho beats Rebisco, fights for 5th place in AVC tilt

MANILA, Philippines—Team Choco Mucho got the better of Team Rebisco, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-17, to advance to the fifth place classification match of the 2021 AVC Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship Wednesday.

Choco Mucho will next face nine-time Kazakh champion Zhetysu in the next match while Rebisco finished the tournament at seventh place.

Choco Mucho held a comfortable 19-14 lead late in the fourth courtesy of MJ Phillips’ off-the-block kill but followed it up with a service error.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat then converted on her own off-the-block kill to put Rebisco within three, 19-16.

Choco Mucho, however, ended the match outscoring Rebisco 6-1 with Deanna Wong ending the match with a well-placed ace.
