Michele Gumabao runs as 2nd nominee for Mocha partylist
MANILA, Philippines—Volleyball star Michele Gumabao is joining the list of sports personalities seeking government posts in the 2022 national elections.
The former Creamline spiker was named as second representative for the Mothers for Change partylist. Risque star-turned-government official Mocha Uson is the first representative of the partylist shortly named MOCHA.
This isn’t Gumabao’s first foray into the government with the former UAAP MVP becoming an ambassador for the highly controversial National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
Gumabao is the latest athlete to submit her name into the 2022 National Elections with Manny Pacquiao, who is running for president, leading that list.
Former Ateneo volleyball star Charo Soriano is seeking a council seat in her hometown of Tuguegarao while PBA star James Yap along with former teammates Don Allado, and Paul Artadi are running for the same position in San Juan.
