Caluza, Martinez finish 22nd, 23rd in Finlandia short program

MANILA, Philippines—Filipino figure skaters Christopher Caluza and Michael Martinez finished in the bottom half of the men’s short program of the 2021 Finlandia Trophy Espoo Metro Areena in Espoo, Finland Friday (Manila time).

Caluza finished at the 22nd spot with 59.74 points, 29.70 from technical and 30.04 in program content score, while Martinez ranked at 23rd with 55.62 points, 25.74 for technical and 30.88 in program content.

Canada’s Keegan Messing and the United States’ Jason Brown led the 26-man pack with a total of 92.39 points.

FEATURED STORIES

Messing scored 48.73 in technical and 43.66 in program content while Brown had 46.93 in technical and 45.46 in program content.

The skaters will be back on the rink Friday night for the free skate part of the competition.

The Finlandia Trophy is part of the 2021-22 ISU Challenger Series, a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions a rung lower than the ISU Grand Prix.
