MANILA, Philippines—Yamagata ran rampant against Tokyo Z and Juan Gomez de Liaño, 81-51, in the second division of the B.League Saturday at Yamagata Prefectural Sports Park.
The Wyverns gave the Earth Friends a proper beating as they dominated in the second quarter with a 20-7 run the whole period to take a 30-23 lead heading into the break.
A 16-5 run in the fourth, that Kenny Lawson Jr. capped off, would put Yamagata up 68-44 at the halfway point of the final quarter.
It was a miserable outing for Gomez de Liaño as he played just a minute and a half and failed to score on his lone field goal attempt.
Lawson finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists for the Wyverns while Jawad Williams added 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Pat Andree had 14 points for Tokyo Z which dropped to 0-3.
