B.League: Juan Gomez de Liaño, Tokyo Z suffer 4th straight loss
MANILA, Philippines—Yamagata sent Tokyo Z to its fourth loss of the season with a dominant 84-55 beating in the second division of the B.League Sunday at Yamagata Prefectural Sports Park.
Juan Gomez de Liaño, who played barely two minutes in the previous game, finished with 11 points and three assists for the Earth Friends who are now at 0-4.
The Wyverns pulled ahead, 18-10, at the end of the first quarter and took total control of the game the rest of the way.
Yamagata’s lead ballooned to 17, 35-18, after a Jawad Williams jumper punctuated a 12-0 run with 1:48 left in the first half.
Maniwa Josei and Williams both had 15 points to lead the Wyverns while Murakami Shunto and Kawabe Ryohei added 12 points apiece.
Marc Eddy Norella led Tokyo Z with 16 points and nine rebounds.
