MANILA, Philippines — Gilas cadet Jordan Heading has also taken his act overseas to play for the Taichung Suns in the T1 League, the club announced Tuesday.
The move marks Heading’s return to Taiwan where he went to Morrison High School in Taichung.
Heading was the first overall pick by Terrafirma in the 2020 Gilas Draft.
The Fil-Australian guard made his debut for Gilas Pilipinas last June in the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers.
He also suited up for the national team in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia.
Heading, 25, joined a growing list of Filipino players who opted to play elsewhere and the third to join the T1 League after Jason Brickman and Caelan Tiongson.
With Heading being the latest to play in Taiwan, the T1 League has appeared to become another viable option for Filipino cagers in addition to the Japan B.League where there are currently nine Filipinos under contract.
