MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia forward Calvin Abueva was named the PBA-Davco Best Player of the Conference on Wednesday following a stellar first season with the Hotshots in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.
The award is Abueva’s second after he was named the BPC in the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup as part of the Alaska Aces.
Abueva, who had the most average statistical points throughout the conference, earned a total of 934 points (415 from stats, 440 from the media, 54 from the players, and 25 from the league office) to beat TNT rookie Mikey Williams, who placed second in the voting with a total of 843 points (389 from stats, 245 from the media, 59 from the players, and 150 from the league office).
