MANILA, Philippines—Terrafirma head coach Johnedel Cardel believes Antonio Hester fits the bill in its bid to make the playoffs in the upcoming PBA Governors’ Cup.

Cardel said Hester has all the tools to propel his team into the playoffs after the Dyip nearly made the quarterfinals last conference but were denied entry due to inferior quotient.

“Hester is a complete package. You can see his skillset, very athletic, and an energy guy. I think he can help the team win, and make the quarterfinals,” said Cardel said on The Game.

It also didn’t help that Terrafirma dealt with injury woes to its key players including top overall pick Joshua Munzon, according to Cardel.

A journeyman whose basketball career has taken him to several countries like Iceland, Finland and Spain, Hester will make his first foray in the PBA.

Hester is only part of a few imports who are making their debuts in the upcoming Governors’ Cup, which will welcome familiar faces in Justin Brownlee, Henry Walker and KJ McDaniels among others.

The 6-foot-6 big man, however, doesn’t see himself having a hard time fitting in with his new team and adjusting to the PBA style of play thanks to his friend and former Terrafirma reinforcement Lester Prosper.

“I learned a lot from Lester Prosper. He kind of put me on game on the style of play out here,” Hester said. “There’s not just too much of an adjustment. You just got to be ready, that’s all.”
