MANILA, Philippines—Mark Caguioa could still return for another go-around with Barangay Ginebra–if he does decide to come back.

Answering a question on Twitter, Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone said that whether Caguiao will be part of the team’s roster for the 2021-22 PBA Governors’ Cup rests on the veteran guard’s decision.

“That will be Mark’s decision,” wrote Cone in response to fan account @OfficialGinebra’s question Wednesday.

“If he wants to suit up, we will certainly make room for him.”

Caguioa did not play in the 2021 Philippine Cup, where the erstwhile defending champion Ginebra exited as early as the quarterfinals, prompting the Kings to re-activate shooting guard Jeff Chan.

While Chan filled up a roster spot, Caguioa became an unrestricted free agent.

Caguioa, who was initially on the team’s injury list during the conference, won nine titles with Ginebra, was a three-time Best Player of the Conference, and was the 2012 MVP.
