MANILA, Philippines—Petro Gazz escaped with a thrilling 22-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 15-11 victory over Chery Tiggo Sunday night to notch its second consecutive win in the PNVF Champions League at Aquamarine Recreation Center in Lipa City.

The Angels’ triple barrel of hitters in Myla Pablo, Ces Molina and Grethcel Soltones found their range to deliver the hard-earned win and stay on course for the title in the short tournament.

“This leveled up our confidence knowing that we beat a champion team (PVL Open champ Chery Tiggo),” said PetroGazz coach Arnold Laniog.

The Angels will face fellow unbeaten F2 Logistics Cargo Movers on Monday for the top spot.
