MANILA, Philippines—Fil-American pole vaulter Natalie Uy bolstered her stock with a podium finish in Thailand over the weekend just months away from the Hanoi Southeast Asian Games.

Uy, the reigning SEA Games champion and current record-holder, bagged the bronze medal in the 2021 Golden Fly Series in Phuket.

“What an incredible meet here in paradise! The energy was unbelievable. Thanks @goldenflyseries2021_phuket for such an amazing experience,” Uy posted on her social media account.

The 27-year-old from Kettering, Ohio cleared 4.21m to tie American Kristen Brown but had to settle for third place via countback.

Britain’s Holly Bradshaw took home the gold with a 4.51m clearance.

Uy missed the Tokyo Olympics due to a left hand injury that needed surgery in September of last year.
