MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines has been tapped as one of the hosts of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

Pasay City will host Week 2 of the VNL featuring USA, China, Japan, Russia, Belgium, Poland, Thailand and Canada from June 14 to 19.

Eight men’s teams such as Japan, France, Russia, Slovenia, Argentina, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands, meanwhile, will head to Quezon City in the second stop of their competition from June 21 to 26.

According to the league website, the 2022 edition of the VNL will showcase a “new dynamic format.”

“This format will provide fans and spectators an opportunity to enjoy the very best of international volleyball and see all of their favorite superstars up close and in action.”

It is also the first major event for reigning men’s and women’s Olympic champions France and USA in 2022.

The country is also set to host the Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championships next year.
