MANILA, Philippines—Mylene Paat had a sour welcome as Nakhon Ratchasima lost to defending champion Diamond Food, 26-24, 25-23, 23-25, 25-15, in her debut in the Volleyball Thailand League Wednesday at MMC Hall The Mall Kapi.
The Filipino import immediately got a feel of the intensity of the competition in Thailand in the rematch of last season’s finalists.
Paat had her moments throughout the match with the left-handed wing spiker playing on scoring on several opportunities and also denying some of Diamond Food’s offensive sequences.
“It was my first time playing with my team and against Diamond Food, it was so exciting,” Paat said in an interview after the game.
The Adamson University alum signed for Nakhon Ratchasima for the 2021-22 season and arrived in Thailand a couple of days after the conclusion of the 2021 Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League.
Nakhon Ratchasima will next face Khonkaen Star on December 23.
