MANILA, Philippines—Kwon Won Il captured the biggest win of his career, knocking out former bantamweight champion Kevin Belingon 52 seconds into the second round in ONE: Winter Warriors 2 Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Weaving through Belingon’s strikes, Kwon found the opening and landed a crisp counter left hook to the body sending the Team Lakay star writhing in pain.

The 5-foot-10 Kwon used his height advantage over the 5-foot-5 Belingon to systematically land several left roundhouse kicks while also avoiding the no.2 bantamweight contender’s striking throughout the first.

“I’m so happy I just beat the no.2 contender, I’m the new generation icon! Give me the title shot!” exclaimed Kwon as he pointed to ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Kwon also called out no.1 contender John Lineker and bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes in his post-fight interview.

“I want to fight, give me the title shot, I’m the new era! John Lineker and Bibiano, anyone, the title shot is mine!”

Kwon (10-3) extended his winning streak to three fights and in the process sent Belingon (20-9) to his fourth consecutive loss.
