Petro Gazz loses Kath Arado, core players
MANILA, Philippines—Petro Gazz will be without a huge chunk of its core in the coming Premier Volleyball League conferences after nine of its players did not extend their contracts.
The Angels announced the departure of Best Libero Kath Arado, Best Middle Blocker Ria Meneses, and seven others on its social media pages on Wednesday.

“Through all the ups and downs, twists and turns, it has been one interesting ride,” wrote the club on Twitter.
“We, your Petro Gazz Angels family, would like to thank you all for our journey shared this 2021! Thank you, Angels! We wish you all the best! #GazzedUp.”
Article continues after this advertisementAlso out of the team are Ces Molina, Mean Mendrez, Alina Bicar, Ivy Perez, Jerrili Malabanan, Jessey De Leon, and Rica Enclona.
Myla Pablo, Remy Palma, Grethcel Soltones, Chie Saet, and Seth Rodriguez are the only ones left on the team.
The Angels finished third place in both the PVL and Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League.
Arado, Meneses, and Molina were the team’s pillars in their campaign in the two tournaments.
Malabanan, who signed with the team in 2020, and Arado both expressed their appreciation for the club on Instagram.
“Thank you so much for the memories. I’ll miss this family so much!” wrote Malabanan on her Instagram.
“Thank you for the opportunity that you’ve given me,” posted Arado.
