MANILA, Philippines—PH women’s basketball national team member Jack Danielle Animam began her recovery process after having surgery on her left knee.

Animam had a successful surgery to fix her ACL and MCL after she sustained injuries while playing for Radnicki Kragujevac in the First Women’s Basketball League of Serbia.

The 6-foot-2 center had her surgery in Cincinnati, Ohio and is expected to be out of Radnicki’s lineup for at least six months.

Animam’s recovery time also meant that she will likely miss the campaign in the 2021 Southeast Asian Games.

The former National University standout was a big part of Radnicki’s campaign as she averaged 20 points and 14.3 rebounds in eight games in Serbia.

Gilas Womens’ reliable big was also crucial in the Philippines’ double gold medal campaign in both the 3×3 and 5×5 tournaments in the 2019 SEA Games.
