New champ Mark Magsayo, Rafa Nadal lead Newsmakers

History-seeking Rafael Nadal and newly-minted boxing champion Mark Magsayo banner the latest edition of Newsmakers.

Nadal is now just three wins away from winning a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam after advancing to the Australian Open quarterfinal.

Magsayo became the latest Filipino boxer to win a world title after beating Gary Russell Jr. to win the WBC featherweight belt.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, and the Philippine national women’s football team also made the cut.
