MANILA, Philippines – Slowly but surely, Jay Washington is returning to his lethal form.

Washington went just a rebound shy of a double-double as Petron Blaze notched its second win at the expense of Meralco, 101-88, Saturday in the 2012 PBA Governors Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

The six-foot-seven forward wound up with 19 points and nine rebounds in just 25 minutes a huge turnaround from his previous output of four points against Powerade the last time out.

Import Eddie Basden had 24 points while Alex Cabagnot chipped in with 16 points for the Bossters, who improved to 2-0.

The Bolts, who downed Talk ‘N Text last Wednesday, drew futile points from their usual scorers.
