“Mike Nieto was drafted by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters as the 5th pick in the 2019 Gilas Special Draft. Today, he signed a two-year deal to join the team’s roster. Looking forward to the energy you bring in-game, and even in practice!”

Nieto was one of the five Gilas players who left the national team system after their contracts expired on January 31.

The 6-foot-2 wing was the first of the former Gilas players to be announced while the contract status of Isaac Go, Mike Nieto, Allyn Bulanadi, and Rey Suerte have yet to be revealed.

With Nieto signing his contract, he can now play once the league resumes on February 11.
