MANILA, Philippines—NorthPort guard Robert Bolick has finally signed an extension with the Batang Pier.
According to an earlier Inquirer report, Bolick had been holding out for a bigger contract despite NorthPort management’s maximum contract extension offers.
The terms of his extension were not disclosed.
“Trusted God, stayed the course, stayed ready and put in the work.. now its time to run it back,” said Bolick in a Facebook post.
Aside from staying with the Batang Pier, Bolick also made his return with the national team.
The 26-year-old guard joined Gilas Pilipinas’ practice on Saturday at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center.
Bolick’s addition is a much-needed shot in the arm for the Philippine team, which lost several prospects for various reasons, with the Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifiers less than two weeks away.
The former San Beda standout suited up for Gilas in the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
Bolick is averaging team-highs of 20.5 points and 9.25 assists on top of 5.25 rebounds per game for NorthPort in the Governors’ Cup.
Before inking a deal with the Batang Pier, Bolick was being linked to playing overseas particularly in Japan where there are several Filipinos seeing action.
