PBA: NLEX snaps Alaska’s three-game streak for back-to-back wins

MANILA, Philippines—NLEX is looking like its old self once again as it tripped Alaska, 106-89, for a second straight win in the 2021-22 PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Road Warriors, who started the conference on a four-game winning streak, improved to a 6-3 record while bumping the Aces off of the third spot.

Alaska, meanwhile, saw its three-game winning streak get stopped as it dropped to 5-3 in  its farewell tour.

Wasting no time, the Road Warriors raced to a dominant first quarter ending the opening frame up 38-17.

NLEX continued pouring it on in the third going on a 7-0 run to take an 86-57 lead off of Kris Porter’s jumper with 1:17 left in the quarter.

KJ McDaniels led the Road Warriors with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks while Jericho Cruz added 21 points and five boards off the bench.

Kevin Alas and Don Trollano also finished in double digits for NLEX with 19 and 10 points, respectively.

Abu Tratter led Alaska with 17 points while Olu Ashaolu pitched in 14 points and six assists.
