V.League: Jaja Santiago scores nine as Ageo Medics sweep PFU

MANILA, Philippines—Saitama and Jaja Santiago had a strong end to their February calendar with a sweep of PFU 26-24, 25-19, 25-21 in the women’s division of the Japan V.League Sunday at Saitama Prefectural Budokan in Ageo City.

The Ageo Medics improved to 13-8, following their third win in four matches, as they stayed at the sixth seed while the Bluecats are one rung lower with an 11-10 record.

Santiago pitched in nine points for Saitama while Lorenne Teixeira led with 12 and Sato 11.

Melissa Valdes finished with 16 points to lead the Bluecats.

Oita Miyoshi, meanwhile, had its game against the JTEKT cancelled after members of the Weisse Adler tested positive for COVID-19.
