PBA: Ginebra rallies from 22 down to beat Terrafirma
MANILA, Philippines—Barangay Ginebra came back from a 22-point deficit and denied Terrafirma, 112-107, to maintain its pace for a quarterfinal spot in the 2021-22 PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Dyip was up 68-46 early in the third but the Gin Kings slowly chipped away at the deficit eventually taking a 110-107 lead, off a 7-0 run, with 29.8 seconds left as Scottie Thompson found Christian Standhardinger for the floater.

“But we also got a lot of contributions from Japeth [Aguilar], Christian, LA [Tenorio] hit some big baskets.”
Article continues after this advertisementJuami Tiongson had a chance to tie the game for Terrafirma but his hope of a foul call didn’t happen as he chucked an ill-advised three-pointer with around 28 seconds to play.
The win saw the Gin Kings improve to a 5-4 record as they tallied their second straight win for the sixth seed.
Brownlee led Ginebra’s offense with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists while Standhardinger added 26 points and eight boards off the bench.
Thompson, meanwhile, had his fifth career triple-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, and one block.
Tiongson had 27 points for the Dyip while Joshua Munzon added 23 points and seven assists.
