PBA: Jericho Cruz joins San Miguel on three-year deal
MANILA, Philippines—Free agent guard Jericho Cruz has signed with the San Miguel Beermen.
Cruz inked a three-year deal with the Beermen a day after his contract with the NLEX Road Warriors expired.
“Maraming salamat po Boss AL sa tiwala (Thank you very much for the trust),” Cruz posted on Instagram on Tuesday, referring to San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua.
The 31-year-old Cruz, who was the ninth overall pick by Rain or Shine in the 2014 PBA Draft, reunited with his former college coach Leo Austria and teammate Rodney Brondial at Adamson.
Brondial also joined the Beermen via free agency.
Cruz bolsters an already stacked San Miguel roster which has been having an up-and-down conference so far.
The Beermen are currently in fifth place with a 5-4 record.
Cruz averaged 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 10 games for NLEX (7-3) in the ongoing Governors’ Cup.
