MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City government on Tuesday inaugurated the Aquatic Center, the first indoor Olympic-size swimming pool in the Philippines.
According to Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, the “world-class” facility is a city investment for the training of city athletes who will compete in national and international athletic competitions.
“We value the youth and athletes of Muntinlupa so we invest in facilities that will help them become champions in their respective fields,” he said in a statement.
The Muntinlupa Aquatic Center, designed by Architect Don Causapin, is capable of hosting activities such as swimming, water polo, and artistic swimming, among others.
The indoor pool could likewise accommodate programs like water safety training and competition, scuba diving pool sessions, swim and survival programs, and physical education programs.
The inauguration of the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center, under the development plan of Muntinlupa Sports Complex, is part of the celebration of the 27th Muntinlupa Cityhood Anniversary. Jericho Zafra, INQUIRER.net trainee
