PBA 3×3: Limitless App, TNT unbeaten after day 1

MANILA, Philippines—Limitless App and TNT went perfect on opening day of PBA 3×3 second conference leg 3 on Saturday at Araneta Coliseum.

Limitless App, which will represent the country in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, easily handled its first two games in pool play.

The Appmasters, composed of Brandon Rosser, Jorey Napoles, Marvin Hayes and Reymar Caduyac, steamrolled Pioneer Pro Tibay, 21-6, before turning back Sista Super Sealers, 20-13, in Pool C action.

FEATURED STORIES

The Tropang Giga, meawhile, swept all their three games in Pool A, beating Platinum Karaoke, 21-20, Master Sardines, 22-18, and Terrafirma.

TNT became the first team to advance to the knockout stage.

Leg 2 winner San Miguel is just behind the Tropang Giga at 2-1 as it shook off an early setback in its bid for a back-to-back leg championship.

The Beermen, who brought back James Mangahas in the active roster in lieu of Ken Bono, initially fell against Platinum Karaoke, 19-18, but racked up two consecutive victories against Terrafirma, 21-17, and Master Sardines, 21-10.

A former leg champion in Meralco showed the way in Pool B with a 2-0 record by beating a Ginebra team without Encho Serrano, 21-18, and Cavitex, 22-10.
