SINGAPORE–ONE Championship unveiled its new world title belt in time for its 10th anniversary card here on Saturday.

ONE fighters, including the reigning world champions, got a peek of what they could be taking home on Saturday when the promotion’s chief Chatri Sityodtong introduced the enormous gold belt during the press conference for the ONE X event.

“We are retiring the belt after 10 years,” said Sityodtong on Wednesday.  “This is the heaviest belt in any world championship organization.”

“This precious piece of artwork is a labor of love, excellence, and design reserved only for the best of the best championship martial artists on the planet.”

The gold belt, mounted on a thick black leather strap and adorned with red gems on the main plate and white games on the side plates, weighs close to 27 pounds and is visibly larger than the ONE’s old world championship strap.

Twenty fights are lined up in the ONE X card at Singapore Indoor Stadium here including five world title fights. Five Filipinos namely Eduard Folayang, Lito Adiwang, Jeremy Miado, Denice Zamboanga and Stephen Loman are in the card.
