MANILA, Philippines — The UAAP is set to bring back the fans starting on Tuesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Sources told Inquirer.net that the UAAP will allow the fans in the stands starting next week but on a limited capacity.
A source added the league will announce the development on Friday morning and will start selling tickets on Saturday.
The collegiate league will require the fans to present their vaccination cards and follow the minimum health protocols inside the venue.
The UAAP initially planned to allow the fans in the second round but it had a change of heart, opening its gates in the last three playdates of Round 1.
However, the much-anticipated rivalry match between unbeaten teams Ateneo and La Salle and three other games on Saturday will still be played behind closed doors.
La Salle and University of Santo Tomas will raise the curtains for the fans in a 10 a.m. clash on Tuesday.
University of the Philippines takes on Adamson at 1 p.m., followed by the ‘Battle of the East’ between Far Eastern University and University of the East at 4 p.m.
Transferee Dave Ildefonso and defending champion Ateneo battle his brother Shaun and former team National University at 7 p.m. to cap the first UAAP match with a live audience in this pandemic.
