ANTIPOLO — For Alyssa Valdez, Creamline’s future is in good hands with the rise of Tots Carlos as 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference MVP and the emergence of her other teammates.
The 28-year-old spiker, who has won three Conference MVPs, was happy to see another Cool Smasher winning the prestigious award and she believes this is just the start of Carlos’ rise to stardom.
“This is just the beginning for Tots, I bet,” said Valdez after winning the Finals MVP and helping Creamline complete a perfect championship run on Friday at Ynares Sports Center here.
But aside from Carlos emerging as their go to scorer this conference, the Creamline skipper praised the consistency of former 2019 MVP Jema Galanza, Jia Morado’s brilliant plays, the solid frontline formed by Celine Domingo and Jeanette Panaga as well as the steady floor defense of libero Kyla Atienza.
“For Jema Galanza, for Ced, for Jia also, for Pangs. Everyone really contributed. Kyla Atienza also. They really gave their all here. I can see the growth, not only in terms of their plays, but also as individuals,” she said.
As she continues to age, Valdez is thrilled that new stars are emerging for Creamline as their squad hopes to add more championships to their four franchise titles in the coming conferences and seasons.
“As an Ate, who is growing old, it’s just so nice to see everyone stepping up, and performing, and taking that responsibility that they can lead the team every game,” she said.
