MANILA, Philippines — Filipino center Kai Sotto was not part of the 283 names of the early entry candidates for the 2022 NBA Rookie Draft.
The NBA on Wednesday (Manila time) released the names of those who have filed for the Rookie Draft composed of 36 international players and 247 from college.
The 2022 Rookie Draft is set for June 23 in Brooklyn.
The deadline was April 24. Sotto just ended his first professional season with the Adelaide 36ers in Australia’s National Basketball League last Sunday.
Sotto averaged 7.6 points on 51-percent field goals including a 39-percent shooting from deep and had 4.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 15.2 minutes in 23 games during his first season with the 36ers.
Four NBL players were part of the list namely Luke Travers of Perth Wildcats, Hugo Besson and Ousmane Dieng of New Zealand Breakers, and Tom Digbeu of Brisbane Bullets.
Duke’s Paolo Banchero and Gonzaga’s Chet Holmgren bannered the 247 players from college.
