MANILA, Philippines — Mark Magsayo is set to defend his World Box Council (WBC) World featherweight title against unbeaten Mexican Rey Vargas on July 9 at Alamodome in Texas.
Premier Boxing Champion announced the pre-sale tickets for Magsayo’s first title defense against Vargas in a clash of two unbeaten boxers.
The 26-year-old Filipino boxer earned his world title after outlasting Gary Russell Jr. via majority decision on January 22 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Magsayo holds a 24-0 record with 16 knockouts.
Vargas, a former WBC super bantamweight champion, is unbeaten in 35 matches with 22 knockouts.
