PBA Rookie Draft application deadline extended

MANILA, Philippines–The PBA has extended its deadline for the submission of applications for the upcoming Rookie Draft.

From May 2, interested players are now given until May 7 to throw in their names into aspirants list. The PBA Draft is set for May 15 at a still unannounced venue.

Collegiate leagues UAAP and NCAA, where some hopefuls could be coming from, are likely to end by the third week of Ma.

Some notable names who have already submitted their applications are Brandon Rosser, Jollo Go and Encho Serrano.

Local applicants are only required to submit a copy of their birth certificate while Fil-foreign aspirants need only show their valid Philippine Passport.

Last year, the league eased eligibility rules for Fil-foreigners. Those who have Filipino blood and have a Philippine passport are now allowed to apply, without the need to submit additional documents from the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Immigration.

According to the PBA, among other possible applications are Justine Baltazar, Jeremiah Gray and Tyrus Hill. Celest Flores-Colina
