SEA Games: Filipino rowers grab silver, bronze medals

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine rowing team bagged silver in the men’s lightweight double sculls and won broneze in the women’s quadruple sculls on Wednesday in the 31st Southeast Asian Games at Thuy Nguyen Hai Phong Aquatics Center.
Cris Nievares, a 2020 Tokyo Olympics campaigner, and his teammate Christian Joseph Jasmin finished second, clocking 7:05.585.
Indonesia’s Ardi Isadi and Kakan Kusmana won gold with the best time of 7:01.385.
Host Vietnam, led by Dinh Nam Nhu and Van Hoan Bui, placed third with 7:08.605.
Meanwhile, the women’s Rowing Team, composed of Joanie Delgaco, Amelyn Pagulayan, Josephine Qua and Kristine Paraon, finished third in the women’s quadruple sculls with 7:28.879.
Vietnam ruled the contest, clocking 7:13.207, while Indonesia settled for silver with 7:23.614.
