MANILA, Philippines–Despite his advanced age, Efren “Bata” Reyes showed he still has it in his latest foray in the Southeast Asian Games at Ha Dong Gymnasium in Vietnam.
Reyes, 67, on Monday assured himself of a bronze medal after topping Suriya Suwannasingh of Thailand in men’s one-cushion carom.
Widely considered as the greatest pool player ever, Reyes earned a 65-58 win to reach the semifinals.
Reyes, who’s won multiple medals in the biennial showpiece including a pair of gold medals in Jakarta 1987, bagged the bronze in the same event in 2019 in Manila.
