MANILA, Philippines — Dwight Ramos has signed with a new Japan B.League team, Levanga Hokkaido, for the 2022-23 season.
Hokkaido announced the acquisition of the Filipino import on Wednesday to beef up its roster as it seeks to improve from a 16th place finish with a 21-35 record.
“I’m very excited to play for Hokkaido next season. I was able to visit Hokkaido twice the last season and I loved the city,” said the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay in a statement.
“I’m also looking forward to playing with very talented players in Hokkaido and hopefully making a run in the playoffs next season! I’, excited to play for the fans and boosters in Hokkaido.”

Ramos played for the Toyama Grouses in his first B.League season.
Toyama finished 24-35 in the 14th place in the 2021-22 season.
The 23-year-old averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 46 games in his rookie year in Japan.
Toyama took to Instagram to express its gratitude and full support to Ramos’ next journey.
In a separate statement in Toyama’s press release, the 6-foot-4 Ramos is grateful to the club that brought him in Japan.
“Thank you to all the Toyama fans for the love and support! You guys made my first year in Japan so easy because of your support,” Ramos said. “I will keep working hard and I look forward to seeing you guys again in the future. Thank you for a great season.”
