MANILA, Philippines–National University brushed off a second-set turbulence to overpower University of Santo Tomas, 25-22, 29-27, 25-17, Thursday and sweep its way to the finals of the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Lady Bulldogs survived a late second set charge by the Tigresses, climbing from 18-14 to steal the frame and break UST’s resolve.
It was NU’s 14th straight win and one that secured for it a place in the best-of-three championship series. It also shifted the format to stepladder system for the next three teams down.

La Salle, despite a loss earlier to Adamson, is seeded in the second round with a twice-to-beat bonus after finishing the eliminations with a second-running 10-4 card.
