PBA: Converge vents ire on Terrafirma to halt two-game skid
MANILA, Philippines–Converge put a stop to its two-game slide in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday with a 97-84 victory over hapless Terrafirma at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Mike DiGregorio and Maverick Ahanmisi rolled up their sleeves in the final frame, scoring at least 12 points each in that period alone to help the FiberXers improve to 2-3 in the race.
Article continues after this advertisement“We wanted to come in with an understanding that they are a lot better than their record,” coach Jeff Cariaso said.
“Terrafirma is a tough team and we know how good they can be even with the guys that are just remaining,” he added.
DiGregorio wound up finishing with 19 points, while Ahanmisi 17 that went with eight rebounds and eight assists.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Dyip, meanwhile, got the goods from Joseph Gabayni who put up 18 points. Aldrech Ramos chipped in 15 more while three others also finished in double figures.
Terrafirma, which is missing starters Isaac Go and Ed Daquioag to injuries, remains winless in four games.
