PBA: Arwind Santos reaches 10,000 career points

MANILA, Philippines–Arwind Santos remains an indefatigable presence despite his aging frame.
The 41-year-old NorthPort forward hit a career milestone on Saturday night, reaching 10,000 career points in the Batang Pier’s game in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
Santos hit a fadeaway jumper at the 11:19 mark of the third quarter, ironically, against his former club San Miguel Beer.
The former Most Valuable Player is the 17th member of the elite club.
Santos is the 16th local to join the bunch and only the third to pull off such a feat in the last 21 years, the other two being James Yap (2017) and Mark Caguioa (2018).
This is the latest feat for Santos, who was recently named by the PBA Press Corps as the Defensive Player of the Year for the PBA’s 46th Season.
