MANILA, Philippines–The Philippines retained its hold on 53rd spot in the latest women’s football rankings released on Friday by world governing body Fifa.

There was no movement for the Filipinas despite improving to 1,479.91 points following their successful title run in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championship.

It is still the highest women’s football ranking the country has ever produced.

Coach Alen Stajcic’s side also stayed as the 11th best team in countries under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Notable AFC teams ahead of the Philippines are Vietnam (No. 33) and Thailand (No. 41) which it beat during the knockout stages of the AFF tourney.

The Filipinas are currently taking a break from preparation for next year’s Fifa Women’s World Cup but slated to regroup later this month for the international window.

It is still unknown if friendlies have been booked for the upcoming window but the Philippines is already assured of facing Costa Rica for two matches in October.

A tri-nation series at home against Jamaica and Uzbekistan in November is also being explored.
