MANILA, Philippines—The life of Lydia de Vega, one of the greatest athletes in Philippine sports, was celebrated after her passing.
De Vega, the queen of Asian track in the 80s, along with the newly-minted PVL Invitational champion Creamline lead the latest edition of Newsmakers.
Tennis superstar Serena Williams, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and the TNT Tropang Giga also made the list.
Williams is nearing her retirement after winning 23 Grand Slam titles.
Fury announced he is walking away from boxing.
TNT, meanwhile, moved closer to defending its PBA Philippine Cup title after closing out Magnolia in six games in the semifinals.
