MANILA, Philippines — Akari has signed former Adamson Lady Falcons Chiara Permentilla and Krich Macaslang for its near Premier Volleyball League debut in the Reinforced Conference in October.

The Akari Chargers on Thursday welcomed the pair out of Adamson University, having a total of 14 players so far.

Middle blocker Macaslang played her final season with the Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 84, where they lost the playoff for No.4 to the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

Permentilla, who suffered an ACL injury in 2019 while playing for the defunct Marinerang Pilipina in the Philippine Superliga, is returning to volleyball action after three years.

For the past weeks, Akari has signed former BaliPure players Janine Marciano, Jamie Lavitoria, and Gen Casugod as well as newcomers Ezra Madrigal and Fil-Am libero Rachel Jorvina.

Ateneo spiker Erika Raagas also opted to turn pro, joining teammates Dani Ravena, Jaja and Jho Maraguinot and UAAP standouts Michelle Cobb, Lycha Ebon, and Trisha Genesis.

Akari coach Jorge Souza de Brito, who oversees the Philippine women’s volleyball team program, is also set to debut in the country’s pro volleyball league.
