MANILA, Philippines — ILLA Racing team, led by Brian Poe-Llamanzares, is now preparing for the forthcoming Radical Cars SR1 Cup, which will take place from August 26-28 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS).
ILLA Racing team will make history by becoming the first team in Asia to compete under the iconic German brand, Porsche Design.
Article continues after this advertisementHans Yao, CEO of Porsche Design Philippines, announced in July that Poe-Llamanzares will be racing for the brand in the SR1 Cup, the most thrilling and fast-paced club racing competition in the United Kingdom, competing against the Philippines’ fastest racers.
“In the Philippines, racing is a sport that has been growing over the past years. ILLA racing, with Brian Poe Llamanzares (also Porsche Design brand ambassador) in the driver’s seat, strongly represents the ‘engineered passion’ the brand is looking for. The brand’s entry into the racing lifestyle market in the Philippines is the highlight of this year’s anniversary celebration,” Yao said in a recent statement.
“We are very excited with this partnership, as this is also the first partnership between Porsche Design and a racing team in Asia,” he added.
The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Porsche Design. Since 1972, the company has incorporated “engineered passion” in all its products, including timepieces, luggage, footwear, and apparel. Throughout the last few decades, their brand has been associated with the racing culture, whether on or off the track.
Moreover, PartsPro.PH, the leading online supplier of auto parts and accessories in the country, has partnered with ILLA Racing for the upcoming racing competition.
The e-commerce’s race management arm, with its roster of experienced staff, managers, engineers, race mechanics, and support services, will aid the team of Poe-Llamanzares at the SR1 Cup this August and on its other schedules this year. Billy Billano, PartsPro.PH Team Manager, is confident of Brian’s performance in the race.
“We partnered with ILLA Racing led by Brian Brian Poe-Llamanzares because we see his potential in this series. We believe that with this partnership, Brian will experience a great time in racing his Radical race car as we show our expertise in our craft,” Billano said in a statement.
Another round of the SR1 Cup will take place at the CIS from October 21-23 and at the Batangas Racing Circuit from September 23-25.
