Filoil: Unbeaten NU faces ‘test of character’ vs ‘dangerous’ FEU in finals

MANILA, Philippines—National University goes for a perfect campaign when it faces Far Eastern University in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup finals on Saturday at San Juan Arena.

FEU may be the underdog in the showdown of two UAAP rivals but NU head coach Jeff Napa believes the Bulldogs can’t afford to be complacent against the Tamaraws.

“I want them to experience the challenge against La Salle, but FEU is dangerous as well. [The finals] will again be a test of character for us,” Napa said on Thursday after his squad survived Adamson, 71-70, in overtime.

The Green Archers were undefeated with an 8-0 record before falling to the Tamaraws in the semis.

“I’ll give them a break after today. Tomorrow, I won’t hold a practice. We will just see each other in the game. Against NU, we will do in-game adjustments. We’ll do viewing of this game though, to see our corrections,” Racela said.

The Bulldogs and the Tamaraws clash for the preseason title at 5 p.m.
