Chiefs put hopes on veteran menina

With rebounding beast Justin Arana now in the pros, the Arellano Chiefs will have to find a worthy replacement to keep them in the thick of contention in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

Veteran guard Shane Menina won’t be able to fill in the 6-foot-7 Arana’s big shoes, but he could certainly steady the Chiefs with his maturity and veteran smarts.

Menina will again be heavily relied on by the Chiefs in a face-off with the San Sebastian Stags on Tuesday at Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Game time is at 1 p.m.

“We know how he (Menina) plays. He can readily contribute and easily make adjustments that will fit our team,’’ said Arellano coach Cholo Martin. INQ
