MANILA, Philippines—The visiting Bay Area Dragons will face the Blackwater Bossing to kick off the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on September 21 at Mall of Asia Arena.
Playing as a guest team for the midseason tournament, the Dragons will look to start off the campaign on a winning note against the Bossing in the match set at 3 p.m.
Wrapping up the doubleheader is a 5:45 p.m. tussle pitting Phoenix and NorthPort.
Wednesday’s opener will be one of 39 playdates in the elimination round that ends in late November.
Aside from the Big Dome, games will also be held at Mall of Asia Arena, Ynares Center in Antipolo City and the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Seventeen twinbills are going to be held at the venue formerly known as the ULTRA, which lasted hosted PBA games in 2017.
Each team plays 12 games with the top eight teams advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Dragons will compete as a guest team which also coincides with the upcoming stint in the East Asia Super League.
Bay Area has won eight tune-up matches against PBA and UAAP squads, including a 38-point mauling of Blackwater a few weeks ago.
