MANILA, Philippines—Letran took another hit after losing to rival San Beda on Friday in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

The Knights’ key players’ Louie Sangalang and Brent Paraiso are going to be out another game after league elevated their  supposed one-game suspensions have  to two games, after further review by NCAA commissioner Tonichi Pujante.

Review by league officials saw Sangalang curse out and give a middle finger to an official as he was being thrown out in their recent win against Mapua, 67-62.

Paraiso’s suspension, on the other hand, was increased due to his comments on the officiating.

“I don’t know which planet that call came from. Even in the NBA or the PBA, you can’t see someone being called for something that late,” he said in Filipino on Tuesday.

Both players were ejected in Tuesday’s game. Paraiso was thrown out due to an “act of violence” against Adrian Nocum while Sangalang was swatted away due to two technical fouls.

The undermanned Knights on Friday lost to the Red Lions, 76-68, and will remain understaffed in their clash with Lyceum, which currently holds the top-seed with a 4-1 record, on Sunday.
