PVL: ‘Complete player’ Ivy Lacsina an asset for F2 Logistics
MANILA, Philippines — Ivy Lacsina stands out among the loaded middle blocker rotation of F2 Logistics, according to coach Benson Bocboc.
The Cargo Movers coach said their newest recruit out of National University has been impressive during their practice ahead of their return in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, which opens on Saturday at Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.
For Bocboc, Lacsina is currently their No.1 middle blocker in terms of function.
“We have a lot of middles for this conference. We have five. But she’s so far number one on our team in terms of function,” he told the reporters in Filipino.
The 6-foot-1 middle blocker, who decided to turn pro after winning a UAAP title with NU, has beefed up the frontline of F2 Logistics, joining veterans Aby Marano, Majoy Baron, Des Clemente, and Jessma Ramos.
Bocboc added that the rookie is a complete package, which makes her stand out.
“Ivy is doing well. She is strong. In fact, she is a complete player as an offensive and defensive player, which is good (for our team),” he said.
Lacsina was the 14th Best Scorer in the Season 84 elimination round with a total of 130 points built on 98 spikes,19 blocks, and 13 aces. She was the seventh best server with 0.28 aces per set and ninth in blocking with 0.40 blocks per set
The 22-year-old middle blocker is set to make her debut when F2 Logistics opens its Reinforced Conference campaign against Chery Tiggo on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.
After skipping the Invitationals, the Cargo Movers brought back Kalei Mau and American import Lindsay Stalzer as they are out to redeem themselves from an underwhelming sixth place finish last Open Conference, which was their first tournament in the PVL since jumping ship last year.
