Manny Pacquiao to appear in Korean variety show ‘Knowing Bros’

MANILA, Philippines—Add Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao to the list of sports personalities who have appeared on South Korean variety program ” Knowing Bros.”

According to JTBC TV network, which carries the hit show, the episode featuring Pacquiao will be recorded on Thursday and will premiere later this month.

Joining Pacquiao on the episode are Korean actors Lee Hoon and Yoon Hyung-bin, Kim Yo-han of Kpop boy group WEi and Sandara Park.

Park, also known by her stage name Dara, was a member of K-pop group 2NE1. She also rose to fame in the Philippines as an actress.

In the past, several Korean sporting personalities have guested in Knowing Bros, where guests appear as “transfer students” and gather in a classroom environment with the hosts.

Kang Ho Dong, who is Korean traditional wrestling champion, and Seo Jang-hoon, a retired professional basketball player and national team mainstay, are regular hosts of the show.

Pacquiao is also reportedly guesting in another popular Korean reality show “Running Man.”

Pacquiao is in South Korea to promote his upcoming charity fight with South Korean martial arts YouTuber DK Yoo on December 11 at Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Goyang.

The 43-year-old Pacquiao has remained retired since officially calling it quits in September 2021 just a month after his stunning loss to Cuban Yordenis Ugas in a welterweight title fight.

Pacquiao is also slated for an exhibition fight against his former sparring mate Jaber Zayani targeted around mid-February 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
